gisborneherald.co.nz – April 12, 2016 – ANIME is a style of Japanese comic book and animation in which characters have large doe-like eyes. It is the most common style in Japanese comic books or manga.
These are just some of the many Animes that exist in our society today: One punch man, Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, Dragon Ball Z, Yu Gi Oh, Pokemon, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Attack on Titan and Astro Boy.
I prefer anime shows such as One Punch Man and Chivalry of a Failed Knight.
Their storylines are unique and are relative to everyday problems we all face at some point. They are also pretty crack up, for example: Saitama (main protagonist of One Punch Man) faces many challenges every day both big and small, he always finds the most creative ways to help the inhabitants of his city.
Even though no one knows he is as a hero, he puts himself through a lot just to prove he is a good guy.
Ikki Kurogane (main protagonist for Chivalry of a failed Knight) is the school’s inferior student, an F-grade blazer. After competing against one of the school’s superior students Stella Vermillion and beating her, the school finally finds his technique, the art of the sword steal.
He decides to join the Seven Star Sword festival, a competition in which blazers compete against others to become supreme swordsman.
It involves two people fighting until one of them either gives up or dies in battle.

Often people are confused with the differences between cartoon and anime. Some key things to point out are
Cartoon
– Produced in the West (US)
– Targeted to children
– Humorous themes
– Deformed drawing style (compared to anime)
– Identified by the characters’ heads
– Everyday is a ‘new adventure’
– Stereotyped for being for kids
Anime
– Produced in Japan
– More mature content
– Deep themes
– Very detailed drawings
– Follows an actual plot
– Identifiable by characters’ eyes
– Mainly stereotyped over violence and profanity
